Explore your interests

Your own way forward with AI support

  • Do you want to fill your time with something meaningful?

  • Do you want to deepen your knowledge in a specific area?

  • Do you want to learn more about AI and other digital tools?

  • Do you want to get to know new people, both other seniors and young people?

Do you recognize yourself? At SkillStation you devote yourself to your own projects based on your interests free of charge!

A couple of seniors are at a yoga class.
An elderly couple plans something at a computer.
A photo album that someone uses for genealogy.

At SkillStation we believe that it is never too late to learn new things, as long as you can do it at your own pace, in your own way and without stress. For six weeks (with the possibility of an extension), you explore something you want to learn more about with the help of AI support and digital tools.

Our mentors are here to help you when things get complicated.

What do you want to explore?

Maybe you want to learn about social media, write a book, take care of family photos or learn Italian and plan a trip?

Do you want to keep up with what is happening and experience how AI can support you in your everyday life? For example, you can learn more about BankID, Swish, e-mail and social media.

Schedule

The days can look different depending on what your project requires and your daily schedule. However, we always start with a morning meeting.
A couple is having coffee in the foreground, a group is discussing something in the middle image, and in the background someone is doing research at the workstation.

Social Community

Find new social context

As a senior, perhaps you miss some of the social contact you had during your professional life. At SkillStation you meet both young and old who are all working on their interests.

Safe environment

Here we want to create a respectful social environment on your terms. If you can't or don't want to be social sometimes, that's perfectly fine. However we believe that feeling a sense of belonging with others is meaningful.

SkillStation participants

We will take in 12 people, 6 young and 6 seniors. Those who participate in SkillStation are all involved and contribute their insights and experiences about their own learning.

We start the day together

Every morning when we gather, you can share as much or as little as you want, depending on how the situation is that particular day. We make decisions about things that affect the work processes and the group democratically.

We are very careful to ensure SkillStation is an inclusive and accepting environment.

Technology is fantastic, but sometimes it's very nice to be able to talk through ideas with someone for real.

Our tutors are here to support you. Perhaps it is about finding a structure in the subject you want to learn more about, to help you move on if you get stuck or you just need some  inspiration, we are here for you!

What is SkillStation?

SkillStation is a new kind of educational environment financed by Allmänna Arvsfonden and owned by Leksands folkhögskola. Its target groups are young people and seniors. With the help of AI and tutoring, participants have the opportunity to develop their unique interests and skills.

In short, a program where you can learn "how to learn".
